The Insanity of the Living
07.13.04 (11:24 pm)   [edit]
[b] Now that NB has been *put to rest* you would think his relatives would have started to move on & clean the place up to sell it. Yes, I do realize it must be traumatic to loose someone but these people need to move on. Also yes I did consider that things may be locked up in probate court but NB didn't have a whole lot in house. Ironically one of his relatives came & got his truck.
The place is infested with bugs & that's just the start of it. The smell from NB's place is a little easier to tolerate but that's because the someone aired some of the place out. Doesn't hurt that I live across the street either. For the most part, nothing has been touched & the city health inspector has condemned the place. The power is still on, but the moment the power goes off, any perishable item that has been left behind in the fridge will start to spoil. WOW a whole new smell to tolerate in the summer heat. The grass hasn't been mowed. The grass isn't really an issue here but if they want to sell the place really fast you would think its easier to sell with a mowed yard.
I call it selective greed without the getting messy. Just take what you can & let someone worry about the hell that's been created. What a pisser that there are people like this in the world at times & yes I've seen this happen in my lifetime but not with NB's relatives, my own.
Death of a loved one can send emotions of greed, resentment, pity & stupidity reeling into a spiral of pathetic & loathing. Ha humanity at it's lowest point. Makes you want to throw back a few drinks, smile & laugh at the insanity of it all.

...and so emerge the seven deadly sins, slowly, but surely, out of the woodwork... humanity - she is unkind at the best of times.

:-( Not good.

Speaking of greed...it seems to be that it'd be a good business for someone with a lust for possessions to start a death cleanup service.

I know this is a slightly older post, but my lord!
I read the one re: Raise your hand if you found a dead body.
I was taken aback, and had the worst vivid mental images...
That is just awful, I had a neighbor like that who was off his rocker, eventually he was in the hospital, I thought the same thing had happened to him..freaky...
